I’m going to hold onto this past weekend for a long time. It was fun, simple, and spent with the two loves in my life…soon to be three! When we sat down for dinner each night Chris and I would both say, “man that was so fun!” Raisin always tells us his favourite part of the day at dinner too which on both days he said it was spending it with mummy and daddy. Queue in heart melting.
We took Raisin biking to a park near out place on Saturday, and between biking and playing in the ginormous park he had the best day. There’s a massive ladybug outbreak right now and he would stop every time he found one, picked it up and ran it over to us shouting “LADYYYYYBUUUUG.” He was having so much fun that he even refused an ice cream cone…an ice cream cone everybody! On route home we stopped by an open house at a Fire Hall where he was able to crawl through a fire truck, and was even able to turn on the flashing lights – pretty much the best day ever in his eyes.
Sunday morning we raked and filled up Raisins halloween bags with leaves and of course he mowed the lawn and helped me with the leaf blower. After packing some lunch we went to The Forks and went biking through trails, through the Waterfront and went over and under as many bridges as we could find. It was an awesome weekend from start to finish with my little man – and big one too! If you were to ask me a few months ago if I’d still be biking at this stage in my pregnancy, I’d say you were CRAZY – but oddly it’s a super comfortable position…more so than sitting on the couch believe it or not! So the 2 hour bike rides, feeding geese, having picnics, plus walking and exploring helped me feel more at ease than sitting. Although we know pregnancy is a day to day surprise factor and my hips are not my best friend at the moment, it won’t take away from how much fun we had over the weekend!
