With baby no.2 joining the family this October I’ve been thinking about A LOT of things. Managing a little toddler is one thing, but managing a little toddler AND baby at the SAME time is a whole new world we’re about to face. Raisin will clearly want to continue doing all the things he’s used to, and so he should! I don’t want to have his little world turned upside down and come to a halt because his little brother or sister has arrived.
When we were in Disneyland this past February I remember seeing this mom and dad with 4 children in front of us. They ranged from aged 3-6 with one infant in tow. She was wearing her little one while walking and without skipping a beat, kept walking and started breast feeding on the go. My jaw dropped because I was in AWE. I remember my breastfeeding days where I would pretty much stop whatever I was doing, sit down and let little Raisin feed. This mama was with 3 toddlers and an infant and just kept on moving. Soak up that scene for a moment…aside from the thought that they were at Disneyland with 4 kids and had a full day ahead to tackle. Hellllo superwoman/dad.
All that said, I’m sure I’ll be doing plenty of baby wearing. We have a Bjorn and used it pretty often with Raisin, but I found it literally broke my back. I didn’t really explore other options mainly because I didn’t know all that much about baby wearing. I feel like either I was living under a rock or these contraptions exploded in the last 3 years. I’ve heard of the Ergo and Solly, but I’m up for thoughts, suggestions and any advice. Some look uber comfy and I’m looking for something easy to wrap and that’s easy on my back – time to research!
