I almost lost a necklace to the jewellery graveyard. I have a few staple trinkets that I wear day to day. My anchor necklace being one of them. It’s a gift my mom gave to me two Christmas’ ago as a momento from when I took care of her when she got extremely ill. I rarely take it off, but I did last week and I put it in my jewellery box with all my other items. When I went to put it on the next day, it was in a terrible mess of knots. I left it so I could deal with untangling it by the end of the day, but what I expected to take 10 minutes lasted a full hour. Using a magnifying glass and the thinnest needle I could find I FINALLY was able to wear it again. It wasn’t without a few aggravating moments, or wanting to throw in the towel. At one point I reasoned to myself that buying a new chain wouldn’t be such a bad idea, but then it happened. The LAST and final knot – TADAAAA back on my neck and there to stay.
This whole fiasco made me realize I need a better system to organize my jewellery. I’m still searching for the right look and items that will help, but I’ve found a few ideas on Pinterest that are steering me in the right direction. I’m digging the reclaimed wooden look with the anthropologie knobs. But, any suggestions are totally welcome!
